Installation Note 43891: The error "server location is already registered for use. . ." occurs when you create a project in SAS® Enterprise Miner™
When you install SAS Enterprise Miner on a 64-bit Windows operating system but you use an order that is designed for a 32-bit Windows operating system, the installation completes. However, when you create a project within SAS Enterprise Miner, you might receive the following error:
To correct this error:
- Locate the em.ini file that is located in the
C:\Program Files\SASHome\SASEnterpriseMinerWorkstationConfiguration\7.1 folder.
- Create a backup of the em.ini file.
- Open the original em.ini file for editing and locate the following section:
JavaArgs_13=-Djava.library.path="<SASHOME>\SASFoundation\9.3\core\sasext"
JavaArgs_14=-Dcom.sas.iom.orb.brg.zeroConfigWorkspaceServer.sascmd="<SASHOME>\SASFoundation\9.3\SAS.EXE"
- Change the JavaArgs_13= and JavaArgs_14= settings to include the \86 subfolder in the paths, as shown below:
JavaArgs_13=-Djava.library.path="SASHOME\x86\SASFoundation\9.3\core\sasext"
JavaArgs_14=-Dcom.sas.iom.orb.brg.zeroConfigWorkspaceServer.sascmd="SASHOME\x86\SASFoundation\9.3\SAS.EXE"
- Restart SAS Enterprise Miner.
After you complete these steps, you can create a project successfully.
